We treat Carnival Adventure as Grand-class hardware with an Australian accent: former Golden Princess, then Pacific Adventure, now sailing under the Carnival funnel after P&O Australia wound down. She’s a lively family ship for Aussie coastal and South Pacific runs—not a Vista/Excel Fun Ship clone from the U.S. fleet.
Onboard energy still reads P&O Australia more than Miami Carnival, even under the new funnel paint. Waterslides, a kids aquapark, top-deck sports, and barefoot bowling keep sea days busy for multi-gen groups who want motion from morning onward. Byron Beach Club cabanas add a pay-to-chill poolside pocket after the 2024 refresh, and we experience her as a practical large ship for Aussie holidays rather than a US Fun Ship clone.
Cabin strategy follows familiar Grand-class logic from her Princess years and still rewards careful placement. Standard balconies are the volume play, while Mini-Suites and full Suites buy space and better placement when the voyage is long. Roughly three-quarters of outside rooms carry balconies, but under-pool and late-deck banks still punish light sleepers, so ask us before you grab the cheapest aft balcony on a school-holiday sailing.
Dining keeps the Australian chef partnerships that defined the Pacific Adventure years for returning guests. Luke’s Grill, 400 Gradi, Angelo’s, and Dragon Lady sit alongside The Pantry marketplace and the main Waterfront dining room without forcing an American Carnival menu map. In 2020 and 2021 she transferred to P&O Cruises Australia as Pacific Adventure after a Trieste drydock that added Southern Cross livery, chef-partner dining, and refreshed public rooms. When Carnival Corporation ended the P&O Australia brand, she and Pacific Encounter moved under Carnival Cruise Line names in 2025.
The ship measures about 108,900 GT with roughly 1,316 staterooms and passenger loads near 2,600 to 3,100 across eighteen decks. A 2024 Singapore drydock added Byron Beach Club cabanas, pool-deck daybeds, spa equipment updates, and large soft-goods refreshes. Propulsion remains conventional Wärtsilä-Sulzer diesel machinery from the original Grand-class build era.
