Carnival Pride
Where she is right now
Spirit-class Fun Ship, Tampa-ready
We experience Carnival Pride as Spirit-class Carnival with a 2023 refresh: WaterWorks, Serenity, and classic Fun Ship staples on a midsize hull. We’d book her from Tampa when you want Western Caribbean or Panama Canal nights without XL-ship crowds.
Day to day she feels like midsize Carnival with Joe Farcus “Icons of Beauty” interiors and a post-2023 product bump. Families orbit Camp Ocean and the new Carnival WaterWorks aqua park; adults claim Serenity when the Lido gets loud. We send first-timers and multi-gen groups here when Tampa is the drive-to play and they want Fun Ship energy without Excel-class sprawl, roller-coaster hardware, or megaship crowds.
Cabins follow the Spirit playbook: a high balcony ratio across most decks, suites in Grand, Vista, Ocean, and Junior grades, and no spa-category rooms to hunt. Standard balconies away from the Lido and elevators are our default—ask us before you lock anything under late venues or next to high-traffic stairs. Connecting rooms help families who don’t need suite money for a week together aboard Pride.
Evenings run Taj Mahal Theatre Playlist Productions, Punchliner comedy in Butterflies Lounge, and specialty steak at Fahrenheit 555, with casual bites at Guy’s Burger Joint and BlueIguana Cantina. Versus Excel and Vista sisters, Pride is the smaller Spirit chapter with WaterWorks bolted onto proven midsize bones we still trust for Tampa cruise weeks. Confirm your Tampa sailing below and we’ll match cabin banks to light sleepers versus night owls.
- Tampa drive-to families wanting Western Caribbean nights
- First-timers who like Fun Ship energy on a midsize hull
- Multi-gen groups who need Camp Ocean and WaterWorks
- Shoppers chasing Panama Canal / Gatun Lake patterns from Florida
- Travellers who want Excel-class megaship wow
- Guests chasing the newest cabin square footage
- Anyone who needs hush luxury without Serenity time
She’s a 2002 Spirit-class hull—WaterWorks and soft goods help, but bathrooms and cabin tech still read early-2000s. If brand-new Fun Ship hardware is the goal, ask us; we’ll compare Excel or Vista alternatives.

Show ship backgroundHide ship backgroundCarnival Pride is the second of four Carnival Spirit-class ships, delivered for about USD 375 million and inaugurated in January 2002 with godmother Tamara Jernigan. Sisters include Spirit, Legend, and Miracle, plus Costa Atlantica and Mediterranea on related platforms. Early years skewed Baltimore before the ship settled into Tampa Western Caribbean patterns.
Fun Ship 2.0 work landed in 2013–2014, with another refresh in 2019. The major April–May 2023 Navantia Cádiz drydock added Carnival WaterWorks, Heroes Tribute Bar & Lounge, Dreams Studio, and Fahrenheit 555, renovated Cloud 9 Spa, and refreshed hundreds of cabin balconies. A March–April 2026 Grand Bahama call covered casino and retail styling plus routine technical and hull work while Icons of Beauty art remained the interior theme.
Current itineraries are Tampa-based Western Caribbean sailings of roughly six to eight nights, including seasonal Panama Canal / Gatun Lake patterns, after earlier Dover UK summers. Confirm the voyage below for embarkation city and dates.
