This ship is not yet reporting on the ocean tracker — check back closer to its maiden season.
Specs and sailings below are current either way.
We read Explora VI as the EXPLORA-class finisher: same all-suite calm as her sisters, with the fuel-cell story layered on for shoppers who care how the ship is powered.
We experience Explora VI as luxury ocean travel in the Explora mold—low density, suite-only accommodations, and a service ratio that feels closer to a yacht hotel than a resort megaship. Expect the brand’s outdoor deck culture: covered midship pool, aft lounging, and spa-forward days rather than thrill rides. If you want hush and itinerary depth, this is the lane; if you want parade energy, look elsewhere in the wider MSC family.
Stateroom strategy stays simple because every category is a suite with a terrace. We book Ocean Terrace Suites for most couples, then escalate to Ocean Penthouses and Ocean Residences when butler service and square footage justify the step. Ask us about the Owner’s Residence, interconnecting suites for adult groups, and quieter deck placement before you commit on a long voyage.
Evenings lean dining and conversation across the included restaurant set, with in-suite dining as a real alternative to dressing for the room. Versus Explora V, VI is billed as the fuel-cell enhanced closer of the class, so the guest experience should still read Explora first. Confirm sailings below once inventory appears, and we will align suite tier to voyage length and how formal you want the week to feel.
She completes the class in 2028—early renderings and category maps can change before delivery. We will verify current suite diagrams and fare inclusions with you before you book.
Explora VI is the sixth and final EXPLORA-class ship ordered for Explora Journeys from Fincantieri, scheduled to enter service in 2028 and complete MSC Group’s six-ship luxury ocean plan. She follows Explora I through V on the same all-suite design brief: about 64,000 GT class targets, roughly 460 suites, and elevated crew ratios. She also carries the series’ most advanced published power story.
Steel cutting at Sestri Ponente was celebrated in March 2026 during a triple ceremony with Explora IV’s launch and Explora V’s coin ceremony. Explora VI is described with fuel-cell technology that can convert LNG into hydrogen for more efficient energy use, on top of LNG operation and cold-ironing readiness shared across later Explora newbuilds. That tech note matters for brand positioning more than for day-to-day cabin choice.
Itineraries will publish closer to delivery; treat any early collection as provisional and confirm this sailing for the live deployment. Specs, sisters, and fuel notes on this page update as the yard program advances.
