Where she is right now
Bahamas weekend, Buffett energy
We book Margaritaville Paradise when someone wants a short Palm Beach–Freeport reset without megaship overwhelm. She’s a 1991 Costa hull wearing Jimmy Buffett branding—party-casual, balcony-scarce, and built for two-night Bahamas hops, not a week of resort wandering.
We experience Paradise as a floating Margaritaville bar with a short Palm Beach to Freeport itinerary attached. The vibe is flip-flops, frozen drinks, and live music rather than polished ocean-liner ritual, so quiet luxury shoppers should look elsewhere from the first brochure glance. Stars on the Water carries the evening shows, while poolside bars like License to Chill and 12 Volt Bar set the daytime tone for most sailings.
Cabin strategy matters more here than on newer builds because balcony inventory is genuinely scarce. Most rooms are Oceanview or Inside, and only the handful of Suites and Junior Suites offer private step-out balconies worth paying for. We would rather lock a midship oceanview for light sleepers than chase a scarce balcony at any price, so ask us about decks under late lounge energy before you confirm a category.
Dining is brand-forward rather than gourmet theater, which fits the short Bahamas product perfectly. JWB Prime Steakhouse and Far Side Sushi are the paid upgrades worth considering, while Frank & Lola’s Pizzeria covers the casual Lido lane and Hemisphere Dancer handles craft-spirits evenings. Compared with fleetmate Islander, Paradise is smaller, older, and built for quick party weekends, so use the sailings on this page to confirm the exact two-night window.

She’s a 1991 Costa Classica hull in Margaritaville paint—only suites carry true balconies, and hardware lags newer ships. Ask us before you assume a balcony category exists for your dates.

Paradise, on paper
Show ship backgroundHide ship backgroundMargaritaville Paradise began life in 1991 as Costa Classica, later sailing as Costa neoClassica before a 2018 move to Bahamas Paradise as Grand Classica. Margaritaville Resorts partnered with that operator to launch the Margaritaville at Sea brand. After a Freeport wetdock, she was renamed and christened at Port Palm Beach in May 2022, with a Jimmy Buffett concert marking the maiden voyage.
The ship remains Bahamas-flagged and keeps a compact Classica-class footprint: roughly 53,000 GT, about 658 staterooms across thirteen decks, and passenger loads in the 1,300 to 1,680 range. Later program tweaks added Tipsy Scoop partnership flavors, upgraded poolside bars, Far Side Sushi, and seasonal menu work at JWB Prime. A January 2026 Freeport drydock covered hull, machinery, and hotel refresh work.
Deployment stays simple: regular two-night Palm Beach to Freeport Bahamas schedules rather than long Caribbean loops. Confirm the exact sailing, embarkation, and any special-theme cruise on this page before you treat the pattern as permanent.
