Yacht Club on Fantasia bones

We experience MSC Preziosa as the last modified Fantasia-class ship: Mediterranean polish, a serious MSC Yacht Club, and family water thrills without Meraviglia-class sprawl. We’d book her when you want MSC’s VIP bubble or Northern Europe value on a known hull.

Day to day she feels like classic MSC big-ship energy with Italian styling: a real-stone Phoenician Plaza, Swarovski staircases, and the covered La Playa pool when weather turns. Families orbit Doremi Castle and the Vertigo waterslide; couples and parents who need quiet time claim the adults-only Top 18 Exclusive Solarium. We send multi-gen groups here when they want MSC’s Mediterranean vibe without needing the newest Meraviglia or World Class neighborhoods.

Cabins skew heavily balcony, with most of the inventory as step-out verandas, while the real product split is MSC Yacht Club versus the rest of the ship. Yacht Club guests get butler service, private lounge access, La Palmeraie, and The One Pool; everyone else should pressure-test balcony banks away from the Lido and elevators. Ask us before you lock a category if light sleepers or Yacht Club upgrades are on the table—location still beats category on a lively Fantasia hull.

Evenings run the Platinum Theatre, Millennium Star Casino, and specialty spots like Butcher’s Cut and La Locanda beside the Golden Lobster and L’Arabesque dining rooms. Versus Divina and Splendida, Preziosa carries the longer slide and an enlarged Yacht Club on a 2013 Fantasia platform. Confirm your Southampton, Hamburg, or South America sailing below and we’ll match cabin strategy to your group.

She's for
  • Families who want MSC kids clubs and a long waterslide
  • Guests shopping MSC Yacht Club without a brand-new hull
  • Northern Europe shoppers sailing from Southampton or Hamburg
  • Multi-gen groups who like Mediterranean styling and energy
She's not for
  • Travellers who want Meraviglia or World Class cabin modernity
  • Anyone seeking hush luxury without Yacht Club money
  • Crowd-averse guests on a full ~4,000-guest Fantasia ship
Honest caveat

She’s a 2013 Fantasia hull—refreshed in 2025, but without Meraviglia-class cabin tech or layout. If infinite-balcony modernity is non-negotiable, ask us before you book; we’ll steer you to newer MSC or a peer line.

MSC Preziosa is the fourth and final modified Fantasia-class ship for MSC Cruises, delivered by STX France (Chantiers de l’Atlantique) in March 2013. She began life as the unfinished Libyan-ordered “Phoenicia” before MSC purchased the hull in 2012 and renamed her Preziosa. Sisters include Divina, Fantasia, and Splendida; volume, berths, and deck counts sit on the fact sheet on this page.

Compared with earlier Fantasia sisters, Preziosa added more staterooms, an enlarged MSC Yacht Club, the Vertigo waterslide, Doremi Castle, and the adults-only Top 18 infinity solarium. An April 2025 drydock at Damen Shiprepair Rotterdam covered propulsion work, hull cleaning and repaint, plus hotel refreshes to passenger staterooms and public areas. Classification and safety inspections ran alongside the hotel soft-goods pass.

Deployment skews Northern European roundtrips from Southampton, Hamburg, Rotterdam, and Le Havre, with seasonal South America seasons from Santos and Buenos Aires. Confirm the voyage below for embarkation city and dates—homeport patterns rotate with the calendar.
