Where she is right now
Jewel-class Freestyle with Hawaii DNA
We experience Norwegian Jade as Jewel-class Freestyle wearing her Pride of Hawaii past: open dining, international crowds, and a Mediterranean (or Europe) week that rewards flexibility. She’s for couples and mixed-age groups who want choice without megaship scale.
We feel Jade as classic NCL Freestyle on a mid-large Jewel hull. Walk-in dining, real-time restaurant occupancy boards, and a venue map that runs from Alizar and Grand Pacific to Cagney’s, Teppanyaki, La Cucina, and Moderno keep dinner flexible. Days use the main pools, Vibe Beach Club when you buy the quieter adults sundeck pass, and Spinnaker Lounge when the evening turns into comedy or a late set.
Cabins are mid-2000s Jewel footprints: insides and oceanviews for value, balconies for warm Med evenings, and The Haven (including Garden Villas) when you want a ship-within-a-ship courtyard and quieter pool access. We steer light sleepers away from pool-overhead and nightlife-adjacent banks and toward quieter midship corridors. Ask us before you lock a category if a Haven key or connecting rooms change the trip math.
Versus Prima or Breakaway Plus ships she is older and denser in the wrong cabin bank, but Freestyle still shines when your group hates fixed seating and wants to change restaurants night to night. Entertainment leans Broadway-style nights in the Stardust Theatre plus Bar City and Bliss Ultra Lounge for later hours. Confirm sailings on this page with us for Rome, Venice, or other European homeports before you book flights.

She began life as Pride of Hawaii before the NCL Jade conversion, so the bones and Hawaiian décor cues are not identical to ships designed for Freestyle from day one. We’ll walk Haven versus balcony tradeoffs before you book.

Norwegian Jade, on paper
Show ship backgroundHide ship backgroundNorwegian Jade is the second Jewel-class NCL ship, delivered in 2006 and originally operated as Pride of Hawaii for NCL America alongside Pride of Aloha. After Hawaii losses, she left Honolulu in early 2008, gained a casino and NCL livery in drydock, and relaunched as Norwegian Jade on a Los Angeles to Miami Panama Canal inaugural under Captain Frank Juliussen. Sisters are Jewel, Pearl, and Gem.
The 2017 Freeport “Norwegian Edge” drydock refreshed atriums and art, upgraded cabins with USB headboards, renovated The Haven courtyard, and added venues such as O’Sheehan’s, Los Lobos, Sugarcane, The Cellars, and Bliss Ultra Lounge. Hybrid scrubbers were retrofitted the same yard period. The 2026 Victoria, BC drydock expanded Deck 14 with Vibe Beach Club, an adults-only paid sundeck retreat.
Deployment since the conversion has centered on Mediterranean and Northern Europe programs from hubs such as Rome (Civitavecchia), Venice, Hamburg, and Southampton, with occasional Caribbean and longer repositionings.
