Prima Plus, Miami-ready

Norwegian Luna is Prima-Plus Freestyle energy built for Caribbean weeks out of Miami. We’d put her for families and friend groups who want open dining, The Haven, and new outdoor toys more than a quiet ship.

We experience Norwegian Luna as NCL’s newest Prima-Plus playground, with a three-deck Penrose Atrium, aft Indulge Food Hall, glass bridges, and Infinity Beach infinity pools. The vibe is choose-your-own evening, with specialty covers and casual marketplace bites instead of one rigid main-dining culture. Our advice is simple: pick whether you’re living in the mass-ship circuit or retreating aft into The Haven.

Cabins follow the Prima playbook with a serious suite story for groups who want quieter public space. The Haven spans multiple aft decks with private lounges, an exclusive pool pocket, and dedicated elevators, while downstairs balcony categories do the volume for Freestyle guests. We’d ask about location under the food hall and pool decks before you lock anything, because new ships still have noise banks and light sleepers should plan around carefully.

Dining is the headline flex on Luna’s first Caribbean seasons out of Miami. Sukhothai brings NCL’s first Thai specialty, and Los Lobos Cantina, Onda by Scarpetta, Cagney’s, Palomar, and the open-air Indulge stalls keep groups fed without fighting one buffet line all week. Ask us Haven versus a strong balcony before you book; the Miami sailings on this page make that Freestyle tradeoff real for your group.

She's for
  • Families and friend groups who want Freestyle dining variety
  • First-timers chasing a brand-new Prima-Plus ship out of Miami
  • Guests open to The Haven as a quieter aft enclave
  • Food-focused travellers who collect specialty venues
She's not for
  • Travellers who want hush, adults-only calm every night
  • Anyone who dislikes cover charges and reservation planning
  • Shoppers chasing small-ship enrichment over outdoor spectacle
Honest caveat

At full Caribbean loads, Indulge, Infinity Beach, and elevator peaks need patience. We’ll steer quieter cabin pockets and off-peak dining—or Haven—so you skip the worst bottlenecks.

Norwegian Luna is an NCL Prima-Plus newbuild from Fincantieri’s Marghera yard near Venice (hull 6301), floated 14 March 2025 and delivered to NCLH on 5 March 2026. She was christened in PortMiami on 27 March 2026 after a Civitavecchia–Barcelona–Gibraltar transatlantic positioning, with hull artist ELLE as godmother.

Prima-Plus continues the Leonardo/Prima order book NCLH placed with Fincantieri beginning in 2017, with Luna among the named Prima-family ships. The hotel product adds a three-level atrium, expanded outdoor dining, and a multi-deck Haven suite complex. Propulsion is diesel-electric with Azipod thrusters; capacity, engines, and deck counts live on the fact sheet on this page.

Inaugural 2026 Caribbean programming is Miami-centric, with short Bahamas patterns plus longer Western and Eastern Caribbean routes, and a published 2027 Bermuda season from New York. Confirm embarkation and dates on the sailing you want; early-career deployments can shift, and the sailings table on this page is the live check.
