Holland America Line announced on May 28, 2026 that it will cruise Europe year-round for the first time in the 2027–2028 season — and Nieuw Statendam is the ship staying put. In January 2028, a Canary Islands route runs Rotterdam to Barcelona (January 2), followed by a Greek Isles sailing from Athens with an overnight in Istanbul (January 26).
