Premium midsize, Millennium bones

We experience Celebrity Summit as classic Millennium-class Celebrity: polished evenings, AquaClass wellness dining, and The Retreat—not Edge-class infinite verandas. We’d book her for Bermuda, Caribbean, or Canada–New England when you want premium calm without megaship scale.

Day to day she reads as a boutique-leaning midsize ship after Celebrity Revolution: Martini Bar energy in the atrium, adults-only Solarium, and The Retreat sundeck for suite guests. Cirque-leaning evening programming and a quieter pool deck keep the vibe adult-forward without going adults-only. We send couples and polished friend groups here when Edge or Aspire hardware is more ship than they need for a week at sea.

Cabins follow the Millennium playbook refreshed in 2019: standard balconies are the volume play, AquaClass unlocks Blu and Persian Garden access, and Penthouse / suite inventory feeds The Retreat. Avoid locking rooms under late venues or beside elevator banks without asking us—noise traps still matter on a 2001 hull even after soft goods and eXhale bedding upgrades. Suite guests should also weigh Luminae access against a simpler balcony plan.

Evenings center on the Cosmopolitan dining room with its Normandie heritage art, Tuscan Grille, Qsine with Le Petit Chef, and specialty coffee at Café al Bacio. Versus Edge sisters, Summit is the older chapter with classic Celebrity service rather than infinite verandas and Magic Carpet drama. Confirm your Cape Liberty, San Juan, or seasonal sailing below and we’ll match AquaClass versus balcony strategy to your priorities.

She's for
  • Couples who want Celebrity polish without Edge megaship scale
  • AquaClass shoppers focused on Blu and spa access
  • Bermuda or Canada–New England travellers from Cape Liberty
  • Adults who prefer quiet Solarium time over waterpark chaos
She's not for
  • Families chasing slides and kids-neighborhood energy
  • Guests who require Edge-class infinite verandas
  • Anyone wanting megaship nightlife and thrills
Honest caveat

She’s a 2001 Millennium lead-era ship—Revolution refreshed soft goods well, but she lacks Edge-class infinite verandas and cabin tech. If modern balcony design is your priority, confirm alternatives with us before booking.

Celebrity Summit is the third Millennium-class Celebrity Cruises ship, built by Chantiers de l’Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire and inaugurated in October 2001 as GTS Summit before the Celebrity prefix stuck in 2008. Sisters are Millennium, Infinity, and Constellation. Her main dining room still carries original SS Normandie ornamentation, including the La Normandie bronze statue purchased from Miami’s Fontainebleau.

A 2012 “Solsticized” drydock added AquaClass inventory and Blu; the March 2019 Celebrity Revolution project redesigned staterooms with Kelly Hoppen soft goods, refreshed public rooms, expanded the SEA Thermal Suite, and added The Retreat adults sundeck. A January 2025 Freeport call covered routine maintenance and hotel upkeep after the bigger product refresh. Retail upgrades in that Revolution pass also brought luxury watch brands aboard.

Deployment has rotated Caribbean roundtrips from San Juan, Bermuda and Canada–New England from Cape Liberty and Boston, plus occasional longer North Atlantic patterns. Confirm the voyage below for embarkation city and dates—seasonal hubs shift with the calendar.
