Edge, stretched and food-led

We see Celebrity Xcel as the lengthened Edge chapter for couples who want Infinite Verandas, The Retreat, and a sharper dining story—Le Voyage, Mosaic, and destination festivals—without Icon-scale crowds.

We experience Xcel as Edge design grown up: longer hull, taller stack, and outdoor decks that feel more resort than hallway. Days split between the expanded Rooftop Garden, Resort Deck lap-pool energy, and Sunset Bar terraces. Suite guests live in The Retreat, while wellness-minded travellers should look hard at AquaClass (including new AquaClass SkySuites) for Blu dining and spa rhythm, so decide Retreat versus AquaClass early.

Most of the ship is balcony product. Edge Staterooms with Infinite Verandas are the category we default to when weather flexibility matters without suite money. Suites and Edge Villas are the privacy play, so ask us about aft versus midship and what’s above you before Resort Deck buzz surprises light sleepers on sea days.

Evenings, we treat the four MDRs as the included backbone, then spend specialty nights at Le Voyage by Daniel Boulud, Mosaic inside The Bazaar, or classic Edge rooms like Murano and Tuscan Grill. Versus Edge and Apex, Xcel trades Eden for The Bazaar and adds fleet-first food concepts—great if you care about menus more than the old Eden nightclub story. Confirm your Fort Lauderdale or Miami sailing below and we’ll match cabin class to how you actually use the ship.

She's for
  • Couples who want modern Edge design with stronger dining headlines
  • AquaClass and Retreat shoppers chasing wellness-plus-suite perks
  • Travellers who like Infinite Verandas and destination-led menus
  • Edge fans ready for the stretched Xcel / Xcite chapter
She's not for
  • Families needing megaship waterparks and kids neighborhoods
  • Guests who preferred Eden and don’t want The Bazaar swap
  • Shoppers chasing hush yacht luxury under 1,000 guests
Honest caveat

Eden is gone—The Bazaar is a different product, and Resort Deck peak hours still pack out. If you’re an Eden loyalist or sensitive to pool-deck buzz, ask us before you lock category and dining strategy.

Celebrity Xcel is the fifth Edge-class ship from Chantiers de l’Atlantique in Saint-Nazaire (hull N34). Steel cutting began November 2023, keel laying followed in June 2024, and she delivered on 23 October 2025 before christening on 16 November 2025 in Port Everglades with godmother chef Janaina Torres. She and future sister Xcite are longer and taller than earlier Edge ships; tonnage and berths are on the fact sheet on this page.

Xcel and Xcite are methanol-ready with Wärtsilä engines capable of MDO, LNG, and methanol—a first for this French yard on Celebrity Edge hulls. Design partners include Nate Berkus interiors and Tom Wright exterior work on The Retreat, Rooftop Garden, and Resort Deck. Fleet-first venues include Le Voyage, World Class Bar, The Bazaar (replacing Eden), and expanded outdoor bars.

Inaugural season ran warm-water weeks from Fort Lauderdale (Bahamas, Mexico, and Caribbean patterns), with a spring 2026 transatlantic to Barcelona and Mediterranean segments, plus later Miami dates. Confirm the voyage below (homeports rotate) and review sailings on this page.
