We like Coral Princess when the itinerary is the star—Panama Canal locks or Alaska glaciers—and you still want Princess service without megaship sprawl. She’s the lead Coral-class ship with sister Island Princess: balcony-heavy, enrichment-friendly, and sized to slip where bigger Princess ships can’t.
Coral Princess feels like classic Princess rather than Sphere-class spectacle, and that is the point for canal and Alaska shoppers. The Piazza atrium, Princess Theater, and Universe Lounge handle evenings, while daytime leans on ScholarShip@Sea lectures that matter on lock and glacier itineraries. We experience her as a destination ship first and an entertainment ship second, which is why guests still ask for her by name when the route is the product.
Cabin strategy is one of her lasting strengths versus older midsize tonnage. Nearly eighty percent of outside rooms carry private balconies, and most balcony cabins sit around a practical 170 square feet for two. Sister Island Princess shares the Panamax-friendly dimensions that still let both ships transit the Panama Canal under existing lock standards. The CODLAG plant pairs Wärtsilä diesels with a GE gas turbine, and machinery sits high in the funnel to free passenger space.
She measures about 91,600 GT with roughly 1,000 staterooms and passenger loads near 2,000 to 2,400 across fifteen decks. A 2019 drydock rolled out Princess Luxury Beds across the accommodation, and the September to October 2024 Sembawang drydock in Singapore covered hull, machinery, and hotel maintenance.
