Day to day, Fortuna feels like a mid-2000s floating resort wearing Italian theater for a European vacation crowd. Public rooms lean into Costa’s steamship nostalgia rather than Yacht Club polish, so evenings stay social and show-led instead of hush-luxury. We send people here when Greece, Turkey, or Canaries winter weeks matter more than brand-new cabin tech.
Cabins follow the Destiny playbook: insides and oceanviews still carry a big share of inventory, while standard balconies are the volume play for fresh air on scenic sea days. Across two decades she has been Costa’s Mediterranean workhorse, including Canaries winters and Eastern Med summers from hubs such as Piraeus and Istanbul. Soft product updates kept venues usable, but she never received a full Toscana-scale reinvention. In May 2025 Costa confirmed she will leave the brand in September 2026 after a sale to Margaritaville at Sea.
