MSC Grandiosa is Meraviglia-Plus hardware doing Western Med volume with an Italian night-out energy. We’d put her for families and value shoppers who want a mega-ship week—and MSC Yacht Club if you need a quieter door on the same hull.
We experience MSC Grandiosa as a busy Mediterranean resort ship, not a boutique hotel at sea. Galleria Grandiosa is the daytime spine, the covered pool and outdoor whirlpools carry the sea-day crowd, and evenings lean Italian, theatrical, and social. Our advice is simple: decide on day one whether you’re living in the mass-market neighborhoods or retreating upstairs into MSC Yacht Club.
Cabins are the real strategy call on a Meraviglia-Plus hull this size. About three-quarters of rooms have balconies, and connecting cluster setups work well for multi-gen groups that want doors between rooms without splitting across decks. We’d pressure-test Yacht Club suites for butler service and a private pool pocket, and we’d ask about under-Lido or elevator-bank noise before locking a random midship balcony on a lively sea day.
Dining and evenings split the ship into two cultures that share one hull. Steel work followed the Bellissima program; she floated in January 2019, ran Atlantic sea trials in late August 2019, and delivered to MSC on 31 October 2019. Guests boarded after a Hamburg-linked launch window and a Genoa-centered inaugural Med season that November.
Meraviglia-Plus enlarges the earlier Meraviglia sisters Meraviglia and Bellissima, with Virtuosa (2021) and Euribia (2023) following in class.
