Expedition Seabourn, all suites
Our take: Seabourn Pursuit is the line’s polar-class expedition yacht—132 balcony suites, Zodiac-first days, and quiet evenings. We’d put curious couples here when destinations and expedition staff matter more than Broadway production.
We experience Seabourn Pursuit as expedition Seabourn rather than classic ultraluxe theater. Days are built around Zodiac landings, kayaks, and a serious expedition team; evenings stay soft, conversational, and suite-centric aboard a quiet PC6 yacht. Our advice is simple: book her for the places and the staff, not for production-show density or megaship nightlife.
Every accommodation is an outside suite with a private balcony, which is why we like her for couples who still want Seabourn residential polish in remote theaters. Veranda Suites are the volume play at roughly 355 square feet inside, while we save Penthouse and Grand Wintergarden categories for guests who want lounge space and terrace living as the trip’s center of gravity. Ask us about midship banks versus near shell-door traffic if you are a light sleeper on early expedition mornings.
Dining and spa time matter between landings, but the differentiator versus sister Venture is simply which remote season you want and how active your party is ashore. Note that Seabourn is winding down the optional submarine program after the 2025–2026 Antarctic season, so we no longer sell Pursuit primarily on undersea rides. Show ship backgroundHide ship backgroundSeabourn Pursuit is the second Venture-class polar expedition ship for Seabourn, built by T. Mariotti near Genoa with steel cutting in September 2020 and delivery on 31 July 2023 after COVID-related postponements. The maiden voyage sailed 12 August 2023 from Valletta to Civitavecchia, with Kimberley christening later honoring the Wunambal Gaambera people as godparents.
The class is Lloyd’s Polar Class 6 ice-strengthened, about 23,615 GT, with 132 balcony suites for roughly 264 guests plus expedition staff. Hardware includes 24 Zodiacs, kayaks, shell-door embarkation, and originally two U-Boat Worx mini-subs for optional undersea excursions. In February 2026 Seabourn announced that the undersea program would end after the 2025–2026 Antarctic season.
Deployment rotates through expedition theaters rather than a single homeport, including polar seasons, Kimberley, and other remote coastal programs shared with sister Venture. Confirm the specific voyage and activity inclusions on this page before you plan gear, parkas, or connecting air.
