Star of the Seas is Royal Caribbean's second ICON-class megaship—same neighborhood playbook as Icon, based in Port Canaveral. We'd put multi-gen families and wow-first first-timers here when the Caribbean week should feel like a stacked resort, not a quiet ship.
We experience Star as Icon's twin with a Florida Space Coast embarkation. Surfside is the toddler-and-parent neighborhood; Central Park for greenery and evening music; Thrill Island and Category 6 when someone wants slides; AquaDome when you want glass, water shows, and a night out without leaving the ship. Pick a home-base neighborhood on day one so a ship this size works for you instead of against you.
Cabins are the multi-gen advantage on ICON: most rooms sleep three or more, balconies dominate the inventory, and Infinite Balconies give you a weather plan without jumping straight to suite money. We'd look hard at Family Infinite Balcony and Surfside Family Suite when kids need their own bunk zone. Ask us about quieter banks away from pool decks and elevator cores before you lock a category.
