Sphere-class scale, Princess polish

We experience Star Princess as Princess saying yes to size without ditching the Piazza playbook. She’s the second SPHERE-class ship—built for families and first-timers who want new hardware, big-show nights, and a Caribbean homeport pattern that actually makes sense.

We experience Star Princess as Princess saying yes to megaship scale without ditching the familiar Piazza playbook that Princess regulars already understand. The Dome flips from daytime pool deck to evening spectacle, and the three-level Piazza keeps social energy midship where families can actually reconnect. We send kids toward the family center and sports decks, while couples who still want Princess DNA should claim quieter corners and adults-only The Sanctuary aft.

Cabins are the SPHERE upgrade shoppers feel first after older Royal-class habits. Standard balconies are the volume play for triples and quads, and interconnecting rooms help multi-gen groups stay close without suite money. We'd stretch for a Reserve Collection Mini-Suite or Reserve Collection Cabana when outdoor patio space matters, and we'd ask about under-Lido noise, elevator banks, and Signature Collection access before you lock a category.

Evenings run on Princess classics with Sphere-class spice, from Horizons main dining to Makoto Ocean, Crown Grill, Sabatini's, and art-forward Love by Britto. Versus older Princess ships she feels fresher and louder at the edges, while versus waterpark megaships she's still more Piazza-and-show than thrill-park resort. Soft ask: match the cabin bank to your sleep style, then confirm Fort Lauderdale or seasonal sailings on this page.

She's for
  • Families who want new Princess hardware at megaship scale
  • First-timers who like Piazza energy and big-show nights
  • Multi-gen groups booking interconnecting or suite categories
  • Caribbean shoppers homeporting from Fort Lauderdale
She's not for
  • Travellers chasing small-ship hush and white-tablecloth calm
  • Anyone who gets stressed in peak pool and elevator crowds
  • Guests who want a waterpark-first mega resort
Honest caveat

At full load, The Dome, pool decks, and midship elevators get busy at peak hours. Ask us about quieter cabin banks and off-peak dining so you skip the worst bottlenecks.

Star Princess is the second SPHERE-class Princess newbuild from Fincantieri Monfalcone, following sister Sun Princess into service in 2024–2025. Keel work ran through late 2023 into a 2024 float-out, with delivery in September 2025 and a November 2025 christening at Port Everglades. She is among Princess's largest ships and part of Carnival Corporation's dual-fuel LNG program, using liquefied natural gas with marine gas oil backup.

The platform introduces Sphere signatures that rewrite the older Royal-class map. Highlights include a glass Dome entertainment and pool complex, a suspended media sphere in the Piazza atrium, redesigned suite products in the Signature and Reserve Collection lines, and expanded dining and show venues. Interior design work is credited to Tillberg Design of Sweden, emphasizing glass, light, and outward-facing public rooms.

After a revised Mediterranean debut in autumn 2025 and a Barcelona to Fort Lauderdale crossing, her early program settled into Eastern Caribbean sailings from Fort Lauderdale with Princess Cays calls. Later Alaska and Seattle seasons also appear on the books. Confirm the exact homeport and itinerary for your sailing on this page, because deployment shifts by season.
