Solstice polish, still relevant

We experience Celebrity Equinox as peak Solstice-class Celebrity: real-grass Lawn Club, spa-forward AquaClass, and specialty dining that still feels like a reason to sail. We’d put couples here when they want premium Midsize-to-large polish without jumping to Edge infinite verandas.

Onboard energy sits in the balanced middle that Celebrity does best for couples at sea. Pool days and the Solarium handle the sun; The Lawn Club is the signature outdoor beat with glass-blowing demos and evening movies; The Retreat sundeck keeps suite guests in their own quiet pocket. We treat Equinox as adult-leaning Celebrity with enough kids programs that a multi-gen trip still works, just not as a theme-park resort week.

Cabins are why Solstice still sells: roughly eighty-five percent balconies, solid square footage for the class, and the 2019 Celebrity Revolution refresh with eXhale bedding throughout every stateroom category on board. We’d book AquaClass when spa access and Blu dining matter, Concierge Class for extras without full suite money, and standard verandas when the itinerary is the star. Ask us about aft views and under-venue banks before you lock a category.

Evenings, we lean on Silhouette for the included ritual, then spend specialty nights at Murano, Tuscan Grille, or Qsine with Le Petit Chef. Versus Edge-class sisters, Equinox trades infinite verandas and Magrodome drama for proven Solstice neighborhoods and usually sharper value on Mediterranean weeks. Confirm your Barcelona or seasonal sailing below and we’ll match cabin tier to how you actually use the ship.

She's for
  • Couples who want premium dining and spa without megaship chaos
  • AquaClass fans who book for Blu and the spa circuit
  • Mediterranean shoppers sailing from Barcelona
  • Solstice loyalists who prefer lawn and glass over Edge theatrics
She's not for
  • Travellers who insist on Edge-class infinite verandas
  • Families hunting waterparks and kids’ neighborhoods as the headline
  • Anyone who wants a small-ship expedition feel
Honest caveat

She’s a 2009 Solstice lead of her generation—the Revolution drydock refreshed rooms well, but she lacks Edge infinite verandas and cabin tech. If modern balcony design is the dealbreaker, ask us; we’ll compare Equinox categories against an Edge sailing.

Show ship backgroundHide ship background

Celebrity Equinox is the second Solstice-class ship, built for Celebrity Cruises and delivered in 2009 after sister Solstice opened the class. She joined Eclipse, Silhouette, and Reflection in the five-ship Solstice family. Capacity and tonnage sit on the fact sheet on this page.

The May 2019 Celebrity Revolution drydock in Freeport modernized staterooms with eXhale bedding, added Sunset Suites, rebuilt Oceanview Cafe, and introduced The Retreat sundeck for suite guests. The Lawn Club gained alcoves and a LED movie screen while public rooms, spa, and retail moved closer to Edge-era finishes without changing the Solstice hull form. Those updates keep Equinox competitive inside the Solstice peer set.

Deployment has rotated between Caribbean winters and European summers, and recent inventory concentrates on Barcelona Mediterranean weeks with seasonal South America repositioning. Confirm the sailing below for embarkation city and dates, then match AquaClass, Concierge, or suite access to how you want to use the ship.
