We experience Majestic Princess as a full Royal-class Princess ship that started life for the China market, then settled into international deployments. She’s for couples and relaxed multi-gen groups who want SeaWalk drama, The Piazza, and MedallionClass ease—not megaship thrill parks.
Day to day she feels like her Royal sisters: social energy around The Piazza, Movies Under the Stars on deck, and the adults-only Sanctuary when you need quiet. The glass-bottom SeaWalk is the signature photo beat, and evenings stay Princess-paced rather than club-circuit loud. We treat her as balanced mainstream hardware with enough variety for a week without Oasis-scale crowds, waterpark noise, or a constant queue plan.
Cabin strategy is classic Royal-class math. There are no Oceanview rooms, so the volume play is a standard balcony, while suites and higher categories buy more space and quieter banks. Ask us about lower decks versus under the Lido and near elevator cores before you lock a category, because noise traps here match what we already flag on Regal Princess and Royal Princess.
Dining still shows her China-era roots beside fleet staples: Harmony for refined Chinese menus, The Catch by Rudi for seafood, plus the main dining rooms and buffet circuit for easy nights. Compared with newer Sphere-class ships she is less next-gen wow and more proven Princess comfort. Confirm the sailing and homeport on this page (she has rotated Shanghai, Sydney, and California seasons) and ask us which category fits your group.
She was designed for China cruising before flipping to international seasons, so venues and vibe can feel hybrid. We’ll walk the tradeoffs versus newer Princess ships before you book.
Majestic Princess is the third Princess Royal-class ship, built at Fincantieri Monfalcone and delivered in spring 2017 after a July 2015 keel laying. Carnival positioned her as a China-market sister to Royal Princess and Regal Princess, with Mandarin hull lettering and venues tuned for Shanghai guests. Class peers also include later Royal sisters and P&O UK’s Britannia.
Early years were Asia-heavy from Shanghai, with seasonal Sydney Australia–New Zealand stretches and later California and Florida programs after the pandemic reset. A March 2025 drydock at Fincantieri Palermo covered maintenance and light public-space refresh rather than a full concept change. Specialty dining evolved too when Bistro Sur La Mer became The Catch by Rudi in 2023.
Recent seasons have mixed South America repositioning, Fort Lauderdale winter stretches, and West Coast patterns from Los Angeles. Treat any homeport as seasonal, not permanent. Confirm the specific sailing, embarkation city, and open categories on this page before you book.
