We experience Regal Princess as polished Royal-class Princess: Piazza energy, SeaWalk views, and adult Sanctuary calm in the same hull. She's for couples and easygoing families who want variety without megaship chaos—not for travelers hunting waterpark spectacle.
We experience Regal Princess as a large Royal-class ship that balances social buzz with grown-up pockets. The Piazza atrium carries daytime live music and people-watching; SeaWalk is the Instagram walk that actually delivers a view; The Sanctuary is where we send adults who want quiet loungers away from the main pool deck. Evenings lean production shows in the Princess Theater plus piano-bar and pub energy rather than megaship nightclub circuits.
Cabin strategy is balcony-first. Most outside rooms have step-out balconies, and there are no classic oceanviews—so insides are the budget play and balconies are the volume category. We'd book midship away from the theater and late venues when sleep matters, and we'd talk suite or mini-suite only when you want lounge access and extra square footage.
Ask us before locking anything under public spaces; Royal-class is quieter than Freedom, but wrong placement still wakes light sleepers. Dining is a Princess strength if you use it: Allegro, Concerto, and Symphony cover traditional and anytime styles; Crown Grill and Sabatini's are the specialty nights worth planning. Versus newer Discovery-class sisters, Regal feels familiar rather than flashy—ideal when you want Medallion convenience and a calmer large-ship week.

Keel work began in 2012, with Adriatic sea trials before a Trieste pre-inaugural and a Venice maiden voyage on May 20, 2014. Fleetmates include Royal, Majestic, Sky, Enchanted, and Discovery Princess, with P&O Britannia sharing the same broad design family.
She was Carnival Corporation's first ship equipped with Ocean Medallion technology and later received a waste-gasification system aimed at cutting landfill waste volume onboard. An April 2025 drydock in Rotterdam covered maintenance, surveys, hull work, and modest hotel refreshes rather than a full redesign of public rooms or restaurants.
Deployment has rotated among Fort Lauderdale Caribbean seasons, European summers including Southampton, and occasional Galveston programs.
