Royal-class, SeaWalk first
We experience Royal Princess as the Royal-class prototype: big Piazza energy, no oceanviews, and the glass SeaWalk as the signature flex. She’s for couples and multi-gen groups who want modern Princess scale without Sphere-class novelty neighborhoods.
We feel Royal as the template her sisters still follow, and that prototype status still shows clearly in the guest flow. The Piazza, adults-only Sanctuary, and cantilevered SeaWalk set the day rhythm with coffee below and glass-bottom views at Seaview Bar above. Production shows in the Princess Theater and MedallionClass convenience keep evenings easy without thrill-park chaos, which is why we book her for many first Princess upgrades from older Grand-class hulls.
Cabins are balcony-heavy by design, and there are no classic oceanviews on this hull at all. We book midship verandahs for light sleepers and treat suite terraces as the space upgrade when the group needs a living room between ports. Ask us about wheelchair-accessible rooms and banks near late venues before you lock a category; layout traps still exist on a ship this size.
Dining spreads across Allegro, Concerto, and Symphony with Traditional, Reservable, or Anytime styles, plus Sabatini’s, Crown Grill, oversized Alfredo’s, and a capacious Horizon Court. She debuted with a June 2013 Southampton preview to Guernsey, then an inaugural Med-facing voyage christened by Kate Middleton in Southampton on 16 June 2013. Sisters include Regal, Majestic, Sky, Enchanted, and Discovery Princess, plus P&O UK’s Britannia on the same design family.
The 2018 Freeport drydock installed Princess Luxury Beds on this hull, refreshed Lotus Spa and fitness, and introduced production shows including The Secret Silk and Encore. A routine Singapore drydock is scheduled for October–November 2026 for maintenance and hotel works rather than a concept redesign. Those updates kept the Royal-class product current without changing the core deck plan.
Early seasons mixed Mediterranean and Caribbean homeports; later programs have included Los Angeles Mexican Riviera, Vancouver Alaska, and Australia windows.
