Sky Princess
Where she is right now
Royal-class calm, with a view
We experience Sky Princess as Princess’s Royal-class sweet spot: balcony-heavy, Piazza-centered, and less frantic than megaship resorts. We’d put couples and easy multi-gen groups here when SeaWalk, Movies Under the Stars, and traditional dining still matter.
Sky Princess feels like classic Princess scaled up, not a theme-park week at sea. The Piazza atrium sets a sociable but manageable midship tone, and SeaWalk delivers the glass-over-water wow without dominating every day. Evenings often settle around production shows plus the big outdoor Movies Under the Stars screen, lively enough for first-timers without Oasis-scale crowd pressure.
Cabins are the booking decision on this ship, because roughly eighty percent of rooms carry step-out balconies and there is no conventional oceanview category. We’d avoid guarantees that dump you under lively public decks when light sleepers are aboard. The two Sky Suites on the Sports Deck are the fleet’s big multi-room flex with wraparound terraces and a private movie-screen angle, worth chasing only if you will use the space.
Dining covers three main rooms (Allegro, Concerto, and Symphony), plus Crown Grill, Alfredo’s Pizzeria, and the usual Horizon buffet pattern for easy sea days. Specialty nights and Wine Maker’s dinners add structure without forcing a specialty-every-night budget on a Princess sailing. Versus newer Sphere-class Princess hardware, Sky is the proven Royal formula, so check the sailings on this page and we’ll match traditional seating versus Anytime Dining to how your group actually eats.
- Couples who want Princess polish without megaship chaos
- Multi-gen groups that still like traditional dining
- Balcony-first travelers (inventory is built for it)
- First-timers who prefer a clear, familiar layout
- Thrill-seekers hunting mega waterparks
- Guests who want cutting-edge Sphere-class newness
- Travellers who need oceanview categories specifically
The wrong balcony can sit under late Lido energy or near elevator banks feeding the Piazza. Ask us about quieter midship rows before you lock a category—especially with light sleepers.

Show ship backgroundHide ship backgroundSky Princess is the fourth Royal-class ship for Princess Cruises, built at Fincantieri’s Monfalcone yard in Italy (hull 6268). Steel cutting began in September 2017, the keel was laid in July 2018, and the ship was delivered on 15 October 2019. She joins Royal, Regal, Majestic, Enchanted, and Discovery Princess, with P&O Britannia sharing related design DNA.
Royal-class signatures aboard include the glass-enclosed SeaWalk, the multi-deck Piazza atrium, Movies Under the Stars on a large outdoor LED screen, and a stateroom mix that is roughly eighty percent balconies with no standard oceanview category. Sky also introduced the two Sky Suites, top-deck multi-room accommodations with wraparound terraces overlooking the outdoor movie venue. Christening took place on 7 December 2019 at Port Everglades.
Inaugural programs mixed Mediterranean starts with a transatlantic repositioning into Florida Caribbean service. Ongoing deployments commonly use Fort Lauderdale and other seasonal hubs. Confirm the specific sailing on this page, and read GT, berths, and machinery details from the fact sheet.
